Few days ago one of our custoemer asked us to generate an XML file based on the products from its Virtumemart webshop for Google Marchant Center.

The documentation of this XML is very good and detailed at the support page of Google Marchant Center.

The projects was delivered by an php code, which runs by an Cron job every 24 hours. The generated XML file is available via an URL address which is protected by a username and password combination. The code which generates this XML file is also located in a username/password protected folder to hide is from unauthorized visitors and from Google bots.
